Fage Greek Yogurt

Bowl of Fage Greek Yogurt

Fage Total Greek Yogurt
Fage Greek Yogurt is the creamiest, thickest, most delectable plain yogurt you will ever taste. It tastes so great you don’t really need flavourings, but it does come with honey, peach, strawberry or cherry flavour. These are separate containers that you can either mix the honey or fruit sauce through the yoghurt or have it drizzled over.

What makes Fage Greek yogurt so much better than all the rest is the process they use to strain it, removing all the watery whey, leaving a thick, creamy texture. You also know with this brand that the only ingredients they use are fresh milk, cream and live cultures.

  • There are no added thickeners, sweeteners or preservatives, no powders added, its 100% natural.
  • It’s a great source of protein and is suitable for diabetics, vegetarians and those on a gluten free diet.
  • If you’re on a diet, you can include the low fat range, it’s ideal for a snack.
  • It has low fat, low calories, high protein!
You can use Greek Yogurt as a replacement for cream, read here for all the ways you can use Greek Yogurt as a sour cream substitute in meals and cooking. Fage is great because it doesn’t separate at high heat.

History

  • 1926 – Athanassios Filippou opened a small dairy. Word soon spread throughout Greece about the creamy, thick yogurt being made.
  • 1964 – The Company’s first yogurt producing factory opened.
  • 1998 – Fage began exporting to USA
  • 2000 – A subsidiary company FAGE USA Corp
  • 2005 – A new state of the art production facility was opened in New York State, USA
  • Fage now produces 500 million pots of yogurt a year!
I first tasted Fage Greek Yogurt over 20 years ago and it is still my favourite yogurt of all time! There are many other brands of Greek Style Yogurt, but nothing can beat this brand for taste, quality and variety. You must try it!

The classic range is a very rich, indulgent, creamy yogurt, but very high in fat. Use this for occasional treats, or to replace cream on desserts.
For everyday snacks I highly recommend the 2% range, it is just as creamy with the same thickness.
The 0% range is great for those watching their calories and fat intake or just prefer that taste.
It is ideal to have as a breakfast food - on its own with honey, in a glass with fresh fruit and berries, or with granola, fruit and nuts. For a snack any time of the day or for a simple, easy dessert.
